Who we are and
what we do

Yota Devices is a privately owned international company dedicated to developing and producing high-tech consumer LTE electronics such as smartphones, phablets and routers. We sold more than 4 million 4G connectivity devices since first products went on the market in 2009. Our team developed the world’s first dual-screen, always-on smartphone, YotaPhone, which went on sale in December 2013 in select markets in Europe, Russia and Middle East.

We hire top specialists of IT industry (former HP, Microsoft, SAP, Blackberry, Motorola and Nokia employees), R&D team is comprised of former Nokia veterans. The company’s headquarter functions are spread between various offices in Germany, Canada, and Russia.

Senior UI/UX designer
Moscow, Russia
Responsibilities:
  • Delivering wireframes, mockups, and prototypes;
  • Working closely with the stakeholders to design new features from the ground up;
  • Prototyping interactive interfaces with multiple states and roles;
  • Introducing core UX decisions; review UX decisions within the team;
  • Conducting user testing and reporting on the outcomes;
  • Create clear screen mockups, prototypes and UI design specifications to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas;
  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off, acting as the user-advocate throughout the process;
  • Proven experience developing innovative and creative solutions to complex problems;
  • Pitching and presenting UX/ UI decisions to stakeholders for sign-off;
  • Maintenance and update of UI/UX Guidelines;
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience working with mobile interfaces (Android, iOS – desirable, knowledge of Material Design principles), proven portfolio
  • Understanding and application of the principles of usability while designing interfaces
  • Ability to work according to the guidelines
  • Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop
  • Fluent English

Android Framework developer
Moscow, Russia
Responsibilities:
  • Customizing android framework for custom Android Device
  • Source code optimization for performance, stability and power consumption improvements
  • Source code changes review
  • Requirements analysis. Feasibility analysis. Architecture and design implementation and review
  • Negotiation with partners for requirements clarifications
Required skills:
  • Deep knowledge of Android framework architecture (such as Graphics and Input subsystems, power management)
  • Experience with Android, Java and C/C++ programming 3+ years
  • Experience with Android SDK, NDK
  • Strong Computer Science fundamentals in object oriented design, data structures, networking, concurrency
  • Experienced user of modern version control system such as Git or SVN
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Intermediate level of English

Research Analyst
Moscow, Russia
Responsibilities:
  • Participation in the development of mobile services. Wireframe mobile interfaces. Problem definitions and compliance verification with fronted department;
  • Translation the complex business logic (investments, asset management) into easy to use, clean and attractive interfaces;
  • Statistics visualization;
  • Analyze user’s behavior, identifying trends and patterns, formation of proposals for improvement navigation and structure of website, profile and mobile applications;
  • Feedback report analysis;
  • Analyze feedback reports and provide update to the current roadmap.
  • Working closely with the stakeholders to design new features from the ground up;
  • Introducing core UX decisions; review UX decisions within the team;
  • Conducting user testing and reporting on the outcomes;
  • Investigation of key users’ needs performing user’s interviews, analyzing current usage statistics and performing usability testing;
  • Creation of design specifications and visual assets for the development team.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of relevant experience;
  • Understanding of UX/UI principles
  • 1+ years of experience with UX/wireframing software;
  • Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Google Analytics, Sketch, Invision;
  • Experience working with mobile interfaces (Android, iOS – desirable, knowledge of Material Design principles), proven portfolio;
  • Understanding and application of the principles of usability while designing interfaces;
  • Ability to lead user research & usability testung;
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks/priorities, consistently meeting deadlines;
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial;
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills;
  • Fluent English.
